Transforming a UFO into an Unfinished Opportunity

Believe it or not, I am not one to have a lot of unfinished projects. Perhaps it's because I always had a strict time schedule for completion; there was often a book deadline, quilt show, class sample or wedding that motivated me to push forward. This past year was different. I now have at least four quilts in various stages of progress patiently waiting for me to take them out of their neatly packed zip locked bags and give them a second chance.
As I planned for a short getaway this past weekend I decided to revisit an English Paper Piecing project I started several months ago. I purchased the Mischief pattern, papers and acrylic templates from the DIY Addict https://thediyaddict.com. Pati's previous post
Helpful Tips for Travel-Friendly Projects helped me decide which project to tackle first and how to best organize for the getaway.

Tula Pink's Linework by Free Spirit Fabrics https://www.freespiritfabrics.com/linework-collection/ is not only a beautiful collection of black and white fabrics with pops of color (my favorite) but also provides an abundance of options for fussy cutting shapes.

I am pairing these with a jelly roll of Gemstones by Riley Blake Designs https://www.rileyblakedesigns.com/assets/images/storyboards/GemStones.pdf

So far, I am liking the look and enjoying the process.

My love of dots is encouraging me to try the large black dots in the connector pieces. I hope it's not too much. We'll see.

Congratulations to our 3 lucky winners of the travel giveaways!
